One of Brooklyn Jews' core beliefs is in forging a meaningful connection to Jewish life through spirituality and community. During the past five years, Brooklyn has seen an explosion of new Jewish spirituality through the "indie-minyans" phenomenon. Young, dedicated Jews in Brooklyn, as well as around the country, are meeting on their own terms - creatively rebuilding Jewish community from the ground-up.
Twice a month, we welcome Altshul at Congregation Beth Elohim. Altshul meets for Shabbat morning services on the second Shabbat of each month, as well as for Kabbalat Shabbat on the third Friday night of each month. Participants are generally from the wave of 20-30 somethings who have made Brooklyn their new home and are contributing to the continual regeneration of culture and community in New York City today.

THE SHABBAT IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS PROGRAM
Interested in hosting a Shabbat celebration at your apartment with friends? Want to find a new, exciting way to connect with young Jews in Brooklyn? Looking for a meaningful, vibrant Shabbat experience, but aren't sure where to find it?
This year, CBE-Brooklyn Jews has launched the "Shabbat-in-the-Neighborhoods" program, with the idea of helping young, unnaffiliated Jews build robust Jewish experiences based on what THEY want.
Evenings can be structured around dinner, learning, singing, prayer, wine and cheese, or anything else you can imagine! You provide the space, you invite the guests, CBE will send you a rabbinic student with a guitar, a prayer book, or whatever else you think might add to your evening.

CELEBRATE SHABBAT WITH BROOKLYN JEWS ON THE LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH
On the last Friday of every month (except during the summer), Beth Elohim will host a Brooklyn Jews service led by Rabbi Andy Bachman and Brooklyn Jews Rabbinic Intern Marc Katz. Following the service we'll offer a variety of programming, from dinner, to learning, to drinks at local bars.
